Promoting yourself to new clients

PROBLEM:

Describing who you are and what you do succinctly.

G Johnson & Associates (GJA) received a new group of Accountancy clients based on a referral from a business colleague. This was a diverse mix of clients with a variety of tax and accounting needs.

GJA doesn’t have a website but wanted to send an introductory email to these clients presenting the team, relevant qualifications and the range of services on offer through the practice. However, it was a while since GJA had updated its corporate profile, and the business had also expanded to include a Financial Planning arm, which the current profile didn’t reference.

Being Accountants, numbers are their strength not words…time to call in a copywriter.

SOLUTION:

Create a master profile that can be segmented and used in different parts based on relevance to the client.

Meeting with the team, I was able to understand the origins of their business and their plans for the future. As a small business, the people are key to its success, and this is often its key selling point over larger competitors as you can talk confidently about who you will be dealing with and the qualities they offer.

When creating the profile, I ensured Brendan and Greg were an integral part of the offering and built the range of services around this.

The extended profile can now be tailored by Brendan and Greg based on their knowledge of a client’s situation and the products/services that might be relevant to them.
